The 30th anniversary of the LIFE Programme was marked on June 10, 2022, with a celebration and photo exhibition of LIFE projects in Croatia in the Exhibition Pavilion of the Botanical Garden in Zagreb.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development as the National Contact Point for LIFE Programme in Croatia.

Unfavorable weather conditions did not prevent the participation of about eighty guests from public bodies, non-governmental organizations and the business sector, all of whom have successfully partnered and promoted the Programme and are continuing to do so.

The celebration was opened with a series of introductory speeches on the results and successes of LIFE Programme in Croatia, with an overview of the numerous challenges that lie ahead, bearing in mind the current climate and environmental threats. CINEA’s director of the Department of Natural resources, climate, sustainable blue economy and clean energy, Mr. Angelo Salsi, an indispensable member of the large LIFE family who has been inspiring generations of LIFE collaborators and beneficiaries for years, and whom the LIFE NCP team thanked for his enormous contribution to the Programme and wished a happy retirement.

The size and importance of the Programme was also highlighted by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Ph.D. Davor Filipović.

After a short break for networking, a series of short and dynamic presentations of 17 LIFE projects implemented in Croatia took place.

At the end of the program, a prize draw was held where 20 lucky winners won photos from Croatian LIFE projects exhibited in the Pavilion.
