Europe Direct is an information network of the European Commission with the task of providing citizens with information about the European Union, answering questions and promoting European integration.

The meeting was organized with the aim of introducing the 11 Croatian centers of the Europe Direct network to the current ways in which the EU faces digital, socioeconomic, geopolitical and environmental challenges, largely financed from the  EU Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, within which the Republic of Croatia has an approximate amount of 6,3 billion euros.

This information is further communicated to citizens at the local level through the organization of various events, panel discussions and workshops for citizens, the public, the media, students, pupils and young people in order to involve them in the very process of making European policies.

The LIFE programme is an important lever for the implementation of the European Green Plan, which needs to be introduced to citizens and local communities, organizations and representatives of local and regional self-government, as well as local and regional media.
