The Launch Info Day for LIFE 2022 Call was held on 25 May 2022 at Tehnika d.d. Conference hall in Zagreb, Ulica grada Vukovara 274, from 10:00 – 14:30 h with virtual attendance over ZOOM.

Opening remarks were given by Nikolina Petković Gregorić, on behalf of NCP Croatia, and Marko Markić, head of Directorate for EU Programmes and Projects, European and International Affairs. César Seoánez, LIFE Project Adviser from CINEA, joined the event virtually and laid out novelties from the LIFE 2022 Call.

After a Q&A session, in the second part of the event, Croatian co-funding programmes were presented. Vlatka Gulan Zetić demonstrated the details of the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund’s National Co-financing Programme, while Iva Žic presented co-financing opportunities from the Office for Cooperation with NGOs. Q&A sessions followed both presentations.

Afterwards, three ongoing Croatian LIFE projects shared their project preparation and implementation experiences:

• LIFE4GREENBROADBAND, with A1 Hrvatska as Coordinating Beneficiary, aims to reduce CO2 emissions of the electronic communications network by implementing free cooling and solar power solutions;
• LIFE CROLIS, with Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development as Coordinating Beneficiary, intents to develop and implement a harmonised land monitoring data model that will provide a robust basis for planning and implementing GHG mitigation actions in the land use sector;
• LIFE CONTRA Ailanthus, with Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development as Coordinating Beneficiary, plans to establish control of Ailanthus in protected habitats of two Natura 2000 sites and historic cities of Mediterranean Croatia.

Finally, Nikolina Petković Gregorić, demonstrated Tips&Tricks for drafting a succesful LIFE project proposal. Lunch and Networking between potential applicants, LIFE project team members and NCP Croatia followed.
